Barcoder: Price Embedded Scan — how to test in POS
Use a Shopify Plus store, or a development store that supports Cart Transform price updates, with POS and USD currency. Other plans are not supported. No separate app account is needed.
- Install Barcoder. Select Standard if prompted.
- Create an Active product with SKU 00123 and price $20.00. Make it available in Point of Sale and turn off inventory tracking.
- In Barcoder, choose Basic > Choose template (or Change) > EAN-13 price (prefix 21), then enable scanning. Step 2 gets a green check when activation succeeds.
- In POS, tap Add tile > App > Barcoder > Add > Save. Open Embedded Barcodes.
- Enter 2100123012343 and tap Add to cart, or scan the label below. The tile closes and the product appears at $12.34. Open checkout to verify the same item amount, before tax or discounts.
On an unsupported store, the app shows Shopify Plus required and disables activation. Use an eligible store for the POS test.
You can also scan the printed labels with a scanner or camera.
More test labels (optional)
Use one matching Basic template at a time. All labels use SKU 00123. For weight tests, keep the product at 20.00 USD per kg and set the price basis to Kilogram (kg). Reopen the POS tile after changing the template.

Custom barcode rules (optional)
In Advanced, choose Add custom rule and enter 2100123012343. Assign digits 1–2 to Prefix, 3–7 to Product code and 8–12 to Price. Keep two decimal places. The last digit is the checksum. Valid rules save automatically.
